Even though this video is almost a year old, I wanted to post it now for a number of reasons:
1.) It’s dope.
2.) Just last night my friend and I were talking about “Call U Later” and laughing about how many listens it actually took us before we figured out what the fuck 2Mex is spelling.
3.) I still can’t believe that Suffer in Style went so overlooked. Did only a few music journalists listen to this album? Better yet, does anyone check for new music anymore? I just don’t understand how The Mars Volta can be so acclaimed, and then have a side project by of one of their members, Ikey Owens, go almost completely unnoticed. I read damn near every “year in review” type article that was published about the music of 2008, and not a single person — besides myself — talked about how amazing Suffer in Style is. Whatever, man. I’m going to refrain from going into a super snob-like tirade here and just let all of you enjoy the video.
