I first heard Jon Hope when he opened up for Rakim at Lupo’s a couple years ago. This kid is one of the better acts coming out of Rhode Island these days, and it’s been nice to see him catching some decent attention in the media (read the Chris Conti feature on Jon Hope from The Phoenix a couple months ago, and the recent Rick Massimo article from The Providence Journal) and internet (Google the kid), as well as hear a few features alongside fellow New England noise-makers Reks and Statik Selektah. Hope’s newest work, Somekind of Wonderful, is available for free download (courtesy of illRoots), and streaming at Hope’s MySpace page if you wanted to give it a listen before the download. Enjoy, and let us know what you think.
