I’m too tired to type much of anything about this video for “Ain’t Nothing Like You (Hoochie Coo)” besides that it’s my favorite song off that Blakroc (the Black Keys and Dame Dash project) album that dropped a couple months back. But before I sign off completely for this evening, a few words, all related to this video in one way or another, for your creeking-asses to marinate on…
- Mos Def is one of the most overrated artists in the last twelve-or-so years, and by no stretch of the imagination is Black on Both Sides a modern-day classic.
- This is the first time I’ve heard Jim Jones over good production, and, even more importantly, spit something worthy of my attention.
- Vimeo’s video-quality shits all over other video-hosting sites.
- Although Blakroc was a decent release, it would have been twice as nice if released with a bonus disc, sans vocals, because the Black Keys get filthy with it.
Need bed. Thinking about posting some more of my favorite cuts from ’09 tomorrow. Peace.
