As I drove to work on Tuesday morning, I threw in a CD that I had just copped a couple days before — Paten Locke’s Super Ramen Rocketship. I wasn’t even through the third track before I was struck with a second-coming of morning wood. Seriously, though, dick-talk aside, the album starts out that good. Turns out, however, even with P-Locke’s fantastic production and quality rhymes, the album does slow down a bit towards the middle. Nonetheless, Super Ramen Rocketship is yet another TECB-approved release from 2009 and a great solo debut for emcee/producer Paten Locke. Check how nice the opening track is…
“Yeah, I got a rocket ship, I’d let you peep it but the problem is your optics, they not equipped.” So dope. That beat is pure smack, too.
Tres Records has been doing some great things. Keep an eye out for all their future releases.
Blate.
