I saw this joint on MTVu over a year ago but never caught the kid’s name. For some reason MTV doesn’t always show the artist/song/album information at the beginning and end of the videos anymore. No surprise; they are mostly rejects over there.
Anyway, I finally came across the video after I read XXL‘s yearly “Freshman” shit-list of who they believe to make it big in the year to come. The list has been good for me to poop on for two straight years, so I’ll just tell you the facts about the video.
The braided-up G you see rhyming about heat-blastin’ and street transactions in this video is Nipsey Hu$$le. I can’t speak on the rest of his songs, but “Hussle In The House” knocks more than your moms bedpost. You know you like it. I’m probably going to sift through some of Nipsey’s online audio and consider making a purchase. But, until then, I’m going to spin some serious Above The Law and dream about planting some Caucasian-seed in that blue skirt (tweet).
On another musical note. Verbal, you scope Mayer Hawthore’s newest video yet? Dece, right? I still think “One Track Mind” should have been a single (and video). Actually, there may not be one song off of A Strange Arrangement that isn’t good enough to be a single…
