you love rafi, kid.

wow, those are some big statements on brother ali. have you heard his other ep/lp's?

i can't believe i forgot to mention that heliocentrics cd. thanks again for that one. i always thought that was from 2008, for some reason. regardless, i liked it, but don't love it. you going to do a post about that one (or whatever), or are we moving on to pick #3?

2010 has only seen like two good releases so far - the new eels lp and that strong arm steady x madlib joint. that freeway and jake uno one is aiyt.

i may have set the record for tags, and i didn't even include anything after the mixtape section. your 2nd hot stove post was like 10,000 more words than this.

wow, i forgot a lot of stuff - jon hope's some kind of wonderful (some good local hip-hop and promising talent), the dead weather's horehound (quite nice), lily allen's it's not me it's you (tweet), the east flatbush project's first born ("tried by 12" still can't be touched), and that slaughterhouse garbo (poop).

word up Dante. I loved you on Grandma's Boy. I dont think Lee was saying he wasn't on those other albums. Dude's nice with it whether its for RHCP or for a rendition of Rafi's wheels on the bus. Both those albums you speak of are giving me mulligans already. US and the Ali EP could easily be my favorites in '09 and a good chance of the last decade... bold statement... but not unwarranted. Radio Do Canibal was real dope. I was shocked on how much i loved that record. The aforementioned Mars Volta was rather nice too, not their best effort but those doods could shit on a disc and i'd pay 14 bucks for it. Grouch and Eligh ranks up there with Us. stones throw made huge strides this year, as did RSE. And when '09 began, if you would have told me i would have rocked out to a white dood from the motor city who sings like he's from the golden era of motown i would have laughed in your fez. That album is bananas, oranges, and apple sauce. I couldnt get into mc (dj?) esoteric's instrumental, although I did give it more than one try which is far and away more than I can say about most instras... speaking of, I'd classify Heliocentrics "Fallen Angels" as a release even though it's just a collection of past singles, but I really liked those brits. Anything with Guilty Simpson and Vast Aire on the same record will never be hated by this guy. All-in-all I think 2010 will have a tough time to compete against 2009.
