I frequently mention how much bad music gets submitted to The Echo Chamber Blog, and some of you may think I’m a negative prick with sky-high standards by way of my redundancy with the matter. Truth is, you’d be kind of right in your assumption. That said, I still believe my online loathing of terrible music can have a positive interpretation. It is, if anything, an indirect compliment to the subject of the post I’m writing.
In this case, a man named Omar emailed me after coming across a post of mine featuring Incise, an artist whose music happens to be on his website — Kitchen Dip Recordings. Considering how ridiculously nice the Incise x Need Not Worry track is that Omar referenced, it was an easy choice for me to check out the man’s site, and a choice I do not regret.
Kitchen Dip has a great collection of music stored on their site and none of it requires your sweaty hands to reach for your wallet. Their goal to “strengthen people’s knowledge of different cultures, languages, musical styles, and other forms of art,” which is elaborated on in the “About” section, is a unique and surprisingly broad aspect to take on for a site whose primary focus is music.
Although the site does not have a large selection, or even many posts, the quality of the work speaks in volume and is something that needs to be heard. Check out Kitchen Dip Recordings here and let us know what you think.
When you come back to comment below like a good little internet geek should, press play to listen to another Incise x Need Not collaboration:
I pray that these two will eventually do an entire project together. They make some of the smoothest stories I’ve ever heard.
