The latest release from the camp of Uncommon Records, Adam Warlock lays some raw, heated vocals over some The Mars Volta samples. We’re big Mars Volta guys here at TECB and when I learned Nasa (Adam Warlock’s producing alter-ego) would be producing using M.V. samples I knew it would work well since Suffer in Style by Look Daggers, another TECB favorite and M.V. infused hip-hop album, is a perfect meld of 2, and maybe even 3, genres.
This 6-track album is available for free download here and you can also purchase the CD version for 10 duckets, and it will come with a poster and limited edition sticker.
If you only download one of my recommendations this year, let it be this one. It’s just a 6 track album so the download will take seconds and listening will take 20 minutes at most. Unless of course you replay it while you clean up the mess you made while listening to it the first time. “Chain Lockin’” starts the album off with an audible punch to your neck. “Slugging Percentage” (watch for the video soon) keeps the rawness coming full speed. “Serpentine Knives” enlists Subtitle and Elucid to share in the rawness and the album finishes out how it began, with “R.I.P. Port Richmond.”
For real, this album is worth the “free” that your unemployed asses will be spending on it. I’ve yet to steer you wrong. Ever. And yes Chris, that includes Smokey Robotic.

Smokey Robotic is quite possibly the worst thing I’ve ever heard, and the fact that they make videos for their songs makes me want to abandon the internet.
