The birthday of the most important person in my life — my mother. The anniversary of the city I now call home — Providence. The release of the most talked about project coming out of Rhode Island — The Mechanics EP.
All of the aforementioned should make for a special day, however I’m here right now solely for the latter of the three. It’s the newest project from frequent collaborators Juan Deuce and Falside, and it’s all yours for free. Now you can give a listen or four to what everyone — from Sage Francis to Ricky Shabazz to the ghost of Arthur Bishop — has been amping-up as one of the best and truly enjoyable EP’s they’ve ever heard.
I’ll be burning a copy of the EP as soon as I leave my nine-to-five, which will mark the first time I remove Rapping With Paul White and Help!, respectively, from my car in a couple of weeks. That’s saying a lot, because I would’ve stabbed the first motherfucker who tried to remove either of those two albums from my top-of-the-line factory Hyundai CD player to be replaced by anything but The Mechanics EP.
So, go ahead, get the free download, and enjoy. While you’re awaiting your download, give a listen to one of the seven cuts to make the grade. This one goes by the name of “Vices”:
Let us know your thoughts on the EP. And stay tuned for news of The Mechanics EP CD x New Era snap-back package. Yes, I’m completely serious. The post will be updated once it all goes down.
Peace.
