Don’t get excited, geeks. I’m not uploading the song on to my site — it would eat-up our entire media upgrade, and I’m convinced that no matter how much I like The Flaming Lips, they (or any group in existence) probably aren’t capable of making a song that stretches the span of an entire day that I would consider worth my time.
I don’t even have the file to upload, and also don’t believe the music-marathon is available to the general public for download. However, you’re still able to listen to the stream .
That said, I’m posting this more as a conversation piece than an endorsement of the music by The Flaming Lips. If you haven’t heard of this yet, it’s a chrome-topped, one-hundred-percent real human skull equipped with a USB drive containing the twenty-four hour piece of music that I’m not sure I would even consider a “song” after I decided to press play…
Anyway, I think there were about ten-to-fifteen of these made. Each selling for five-grand a pop.
Thoughts? Anyone expecting one under their Christmas tree?
