This cat Juan Deuce is everywhere. From The Providence Phoenix with Falside, to New York City rooftops with bare breasts and hand-grenades. Deuce also held-down some real estate in this bad mother-fucker, and is scheduled to make an appearance or two on the upcoming Time Machine mixtape, Vicious Experiments. Like I said, he’s all over the place, and, from the looks and sounds of things, Juan may be riding the Ocean State waves into new waters in 2012.

His latest and greatest, the Fonzi Wells-produced “Freeze,” slated for release on Juan’s No Sweat mixtape, can be heard right here on TECB:

Towards the end of last month we posted “Say Disease” from Dirty Hank and Reason which was available for free streaming to all. Well the duo’s EP is officially out and you can now get the other 8-tracks for the same exact price. Which is free, if you have trouble keeping up. Grab it over at The Monty Brogan Bandcamp page, here. I would do it sooner rather than later only because, as quoted by Hank and Reason; “For now, it’s a free download. But the safe bet is to grab it quickly, because Congress can only pass so many unemployment-benefit extensions and Brooklyn Lager isn’t getting any cheaper.” As someone who got denied unemployment, I’d like to thank them for their hospitality. Here’s “Local Press” off The Monty Brogan EP.

Rap’s Hank Moody and Reason work well with each other. Hank’s intense, liquor filled flow feeds Reason’s laid back demeanor. Each track they’re both on has the perfect change of pace in that regard. Production on the album is handled mostly by Falside the Beatsmith with a couple of tracks done by Mad Plaid. By all means, download this 9-track EP and support independent, local hip-hop.

Mylanta and Rhode Island hip-hop. That’s how I’m spending my Monday night. And you’re all lucky to be right in the thick of it. I still have another monster of a post after this one, and, if the spoiled pork chop I ate for dinner cripples me any more than it already has, I’ll be sure to give you a play-by-play of my sickness. However, I’m guessing you wouldn’t like that, so I’ll speed through this submission I received earlier as fast as possible, before things get messy.

The song is from locals S-bo and A.D., the latter being the producer of the two. It’s off of their upcoming project together, Return of the High-Five, and features former RI wordsmith Shawn Jackson. Give it a listen:

We heard about Dirty Hank and Reason getting together for an EP this past summer. “Say Disease” is the first track off their forthcoming EP, The Monty Brogan EP, and if this Falside-produced track is any barometer of the rest of the EP, it should be well worth the wait. The duo feed off each other on some throw back Alkaholiks shit. Take a listen:
