Shouts and congrats to the big homie Black-Tokyo on his full length album, B.L.A.C.K.T.O.K.Y.O. LP. The man churns out more music than your neighbor’s wind chimes during a tropical storm, evident by the fact he just dropped his 30th (30?!) EP on Bandcamp last month. However, B.L.A.C.K.T.O.K.Y.O. LP is a little different from what we’re used to from the beat maker, as it’s not a strict instra-album and it’s not one of his patented EPs. Black got his filthy hands on some emcees to help him out this time around, with tracks from Aeon Grey, Adam Warlock, Adam Selene and more. Also he’s got some cuts on the album courtesy of Tablism.
Each track on the album is named after the letters in the album name. It’s a concept album that Black Tokyo gave free reign to the emcee, but it’s cohesive enough that it doesn’t play like a compilation album. The track “T” featuring Chosen for example, is a song where Chosen kills Black Tokyo 21 times. Proverbially of course. The track “A” featuring Adam Selene, Selene loses his mind. Lyrically. And a musical marriage that will always sound dope on paper and then pass expectations, “B” is the dude Aeon Grey over B.T.’s instrumentals. Take a listen:
Black-Tokyo is TECB brethren, so feel free to support the O.G. Head on over to his Bandcamp and cop this album for just 5 duckets. Small price to pay considering the amount of music the dude puts out for gratis. Hit ‘em up on the Tweets for more deets, @BlackTokyoMusik.
