Flashback 10 years ago, if you would’ve told me the Demigodz, or at least Apathy and Esoteric, would have tracks produced by Preemo, I would’ve called you a serious homer with lofty aspirations for this quasi-local group of cats. Not only is it awesome, yet tough financially, to be a rap fan right now with both Czarface and KILLmatic on the shelves and on the interwebs, it’s also awesome to be from New England, rooting for the home team.
We, being Chris and I, have watched Apathy and Esoteric (and 7L) since their inception. And now they’re making albums with founding members of Wu Tang and having multiple tracks out that are produced by the God of the Cuts, DJ Premier. We’ve never mistaken ourselves as journalists here at TECB, we’re fans first and foremost, if not solely. I’m proud as hell of Eso and Ap and the whole Demigox … er Demigodz crew. KILLmatic is out now. Go cop it and then cry about being a failed rapper, ya poo butt booty dusters.
