After Vice City Nights, the much-praised effort from Emilio Lopez and RJBeats (see “E”), the respective talents have decided to move forward as a collective. Yup, Emilio Lopez has yet again joined forces with the Barcelonian production crew Stash House (formerly RJBeats) to bring you some new, tasty hip-hop music as the Faceless Kings. Their first contribution comes as a set of streaming songs available for your free download. The first of which, “Frontlines,” can be heard/had by clicking play/download right here:
It’s a banger. And “Too Late,” the b-side of the digital single, per se, is almost right there with it. Let us know what you think.
Some would say finding this photo is what caused me to finally post something new to TECB. Some would say changing my password to VerballySpaced@gmail.com to a random grouping of letters by smashing the keyboard only to never log in ever again is what caused me to finally post something new to TECB. The truth, Fox Moulder fans, is indeed out there. And it lies somewhere in between. Connecticut’s native son Emilio Lopez is back with a new track, some unreleased tunes courtesy of him and producer A-Nice. A track called “Hangover Remedy” (get it, that dog has a hangover so he’s got an ice pack on his head) that knocks and features E’s patented bravado and swagger (notice I said swagger and not the abbreviated version that has ruined the aforementioned e-mail address’ inbox). Press play below and hear it for yourself:
I’ve heard of some silly hangover remedies in my day. Gatorade, greasy diner food, cracking a fresh beer, drinking the empties from the previous night, ice cold milk, cold showers, hot showers, intercourse, and calling out of work. The only one from that group that actually worked for me is cold showers. Also I don’t get hungover anymore because I’m not 19 anymore. You filthy stayouts.
2012 was big for music. John Mayer made a comeback. Green Day dropped three albums. El-P put more than his name into every critic’s mouth. Frank Ocean and the rest of OFWGKTA came out of the closet. A band named “fun.” existed. Pussy Riot happened and cries of injustice saturated Facebook statuses until it was time to Instagram lunch. And Barack Obama signed to Roc Nation. Lucky for me, things I care about also happened in the past three-hundred and sixty-five days. This is my 2012 year-end post. An alphabetized breakdown of the year’s highlights in music. I hope you enjoy. Creek my gangnam style:
I just drove in and out of my gym’s parking lot. Blogging seemed like better exercise this evening. That’s word. I am a herb. But at least I’m two-and-a-half sentences deep on my year-end ABC post. And I’m here now to up the new video from Emilio Lopez & RJBeats – ”That’s Word,” featuring the reigning push-up contest champion of Rhode Island, Meta P.
