New Smash Rockwell just hit the TECB inbox a minute ago. I was the fourth viewer of the video, and now it’s already up on our page. Breaking news type shit. Look out.
Here’s a video for the title track to Casual and J. Rawls’ album, Respect Game or Expect Flames.
The album dropped yesterday and I was lucky enough to (digitally) go to a listening party (aol.com) to peep the album in streaming form. It’s pretty rough, I must say. In the good way. Not in the watching-Canibus-read-from-a-rhyme-book way. You can cop this album from Nature Sounds or hit up your favorite digi-dealer. It’s got my co-sign, which in 2012 means a lot more than it did in 2002. Because … I was 18?
Cas and Del together on a track is a wonderful thing. Anyone else peep this album? Let us know!
Casual has one of the most original styles and has done nothing but get better since he and his Hiero brethren entered the rap scene many moons ago. The O.G. J. Rawls and the Rapgod are set drop a project together, which has one of the gulliest titles I’ve heard in awhile, Respect Game or Expect Flames. Expect that album towards the tail end of August. In the mean time enjoy “Reign,” where Cas and Pep Love trade verses in between some soulful howls. I can’t wait to hear more from this album.
