Chris Conti landed Thr33 Piece Suit on the front page of The Providence Phoenix today. It’s a good, informative read that also came with the news of “Headnod,” the group’s debut single, now available for free download via SoundCloud:
For those still foreign to the Thr33 Piece Suit collective, it’s the long-awaited and formal gathering of three of RI’s finest — emcees Chachi Carvalho and Swann Notty along with part-time rhymer, full-time beat maestro j.DePina. They’re a dream team of local talent, which makes news of their LP, Brand New Vintage, hitting shelves in April (I’ve heard rumor of CD, digital, and vinyl release) just about the most exciting event in hip-hop since, well, since I first heard the trio back in the days of CNJ.
Be sure to stay tuned in to TECB for more Thr33 Piece Suit coverage. And you can count on a bit of it. I’ve only heard a handful of cuts from the album so far, but I can still assure you that Brand New Vintage will be praised in my year-end wrap-up. (Yes, I’m already thinking that far ahead.)

I’m sure all of you have heard about the Thr33 Piece Suit album, yeah? Well, while the trio of Rhody talent is seeing to the final stages of their long-overdue project, j.DePina, the group’s sole producer, is charging the collective battery of those who wait.
Recently j. has been updating his SoundCloud page with new and unheard instrumentals. A few, including the track featured below — “Ah!” — are even for free download.
So take advantage of the cost, and pinch your pennies until the day when Brand New Vintage drops. It’ll be well worth it. (And I can state that knowingly.)

If you’ve been a TECB reader for any span of time, then you should know these three dudes — Swann Notty x j.DePina x Chachi Carvlho — are favorites of mine. That said, it’s no surprise I’m ecstatic to hear news of the brothers from The Bucket gathering for a full-length album under the name of Thr33 Piece Suit.
