TECB INTERVIEW: Getting Grimy with RI’s Milez Grimez

If you live in Rhode Island, you know the name. The rest of the world will be catching on soon enough. Milez Grimez. The talented, hard-nosed emcee has been putting in work locally for a decade-plus, and lately he’s been starting to branch out by being noticed, co-signed, and featured by some of hip-hop’s most respected. I was able to sit down with Milez to ask him a few questions concerning his come-up, the music he’s making, and what he has planned for the future.

FourOh x Ice x Milez x 8th x Gremm x Mek: “I Told You So”

It’s been busy over here at The Echo Chamber Blog, and I’m glad to bring my day of posting to an end with this Four Oh One-produced track “I Told You So.” The song features an all-star line-up of local talent, featuring DJ Mekalek on the cuts and Dirty Durdie sharing the microphone duties with Wundahground’s 8th and Milez Grimez.

Give it a listen, and spread it to your peoples.  I want at least ten-thousand comments by the time I’m done eating some East Side Pockets so I can have something to celebrate once I get back to my apartment and crack the first beer of the evening.

[VIDEO] T x Meta P x Milez Grimez x Swann x 8th – “RI Reds”

Normally you’d never find me on here at seven o’clock in the morning, but this is something that simply cannot wait until I get out of work, or even until the sun rises on the West for Verbal to make a post of it.  It’s the much-anticipated video for the track I’ve been raving about for weeks — “RI Reds,” the lead single from Meta P’s latest, Edison’s Ink.

Although “RI Reds” has hit the pages of The Echo Chamber Blog twice (here and here) since its release, there is no denying the song — which features an unfuckwitable line-up of Rhode Island wordsmiths — has some serious replay value.  So give it a listen, then a few more after that.

By the way, this marks our 500th post.  Thanks to everyone who has been showing support, especially my dudes Milez Grimez, Pilot Paul, and TECB co-founder Verbal Spacey for keeping me in check as well as pushing me forward to stay with this site.  We plan to keep on going strong.

Winter Wars @ Club Hell: Milez Grimez vs. K-N-S

The footage ain’t perfection, but you can still hear almost all of the lines.  Ironically enough, out of all of the rhymes these two tossed at each other, I think hearing Izma in the background saying K-N-S is wearing “a Freddy Krueger hoodie” made me laugh the hardest.  Let me know what you think of the battle…  Any favorite lines?
