Why this video hasn’t been on the topic of everyone’s week is well beyond me. Double A.B., Karniege, and Torae relive their early 90′s life and compare it to the fake, shiny, and plastic late 2000′s we’re in today. Kount Fif provides the back drop which fits perfectly with their sound, while a dusty sample of B.I.G. plays every so often. This track is tough.

According to Chris I wasn’t feeling this track when we got our hands on the MP3 a couple of months back. Perhaps he’s right. Perhaps I didn’t even listen to it and I just told him I wasn’t feeling it so he’d stop e-mailing me while I was on YouPorn. I’m not sure, we don’t have a time machine to go back and investigate.
All that being said, this track is dope. Torae’s For the Record dropped in November, and this, the title track, is the first to garnish a video. The production is typical Preemo and Torae sounds as hungry as ever, even after two studio albums. Check the release on iTunes and other digital big box joints or get your old-fashioned ass to Tape World in Rhode Island Mall. Peace to Caldor.
She don't make the song cry. She make that mothafucka bleed.
Apparently I’m missing something by having not bought this Rah Digga and Nottz LP, Classic, as it’s caught a ton of love across the hip-hop world and has resulted in a remix or three of the cuts found on said album. For this one right here…
…Torae and Styles P pay us a visit over a Nottz instrumental.
I’m feeling it. If you are, too, please feel free to give it a download right here.
Unfortunately, yes I did. I planned to write quarterly reviews of all the music I had been listening to throughout the year, but I ended up accumulating so many albums that I didn’t even have a chance to listen to them all until the new year had passed. However, an ass-load of what I did hear was fantastic. Since I’ve been procrastinating so much on making a post like this, I’m going to try to bang it out as quick as possible. So, while I may not be thorough in developing some (or any) of my opinions on the releases of 2009, I figure this is better than nothing. Here goes…
